REACH-Regulation

Information about the REACH regulation

Rolling bearings are articles, as defined in Article 3 (3) of regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006 (REACH), because the specific shape or surface determines the function to a greater extent than the chemical composition. Any existing lubricants or substances for preservation are considered an integral part of the article.

Articles themselves are not subject to registration under REACH

There is a duty to register substances in articles if they are to be released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions (Article 7 (1)). This is usually not the case with rolling bearings.

In addition, there is a duty to notify substances of very high concern in articles when they are present in a concentration of more than 0.1% by mass in the product and are produced or imported at more than 1 tonne per year (Article 7 (2)). A substance is considered to be of very high concern if it meets the criteria of Article 57 (for example CMR substances) and has been determined in accordance with Article 59, i.e., was included in a so-called candidate list for inclusion in Annex XIV of the REACH regulation (list of substances subject to authorization).

If SZHD Bearing uses a reportable substance, we will list it here.

At present, no substances subject to notification are known.
